Created as I was contemplating my personal history with queer (bisexual) identity. This image symbolizes my experince of being closeted; I had not accepted bisexuality inside my heart, yet my queerness was so clear to those around me.
I grew up hearing demonization of queerness in fundementalist christianity, from my family, preachers, church members. This is why it took me so long to accept my sexuality.
When I came out, everyone in my life told me “I know” XD
The produce in the image symbolizes the generosity of my gay peers who helped foster my growth.

The Earth Meets The Sky
This work was inspired by Robin Wall Kimmer’s book, Braiding Sweetgass: namely the Anishinabe belief that everything is part of a circle and all forces of nature are connected to one another and to humanity.

I Know What You Like And I Hate It
The pattern here was inspired by a midcentury wall paper. The title is about the pain of domestic life as a woman: the quiet, repressed resentment that women sometimes have for their miserable husbands.
IDK maybe it’s just about how I’m still in love with my ex-boyfriend, trying to convince myself I’m over it. The time I spent getting to know him now wasted because we broke up.

This heart holds the center, it is a sun of sorts. you can see the plants grow as if they’re in motion
